Former New York Times columnist on campus

A former higher education journalist for the New York Times is on the Northwest Missouri State campus this week and will speak tonight as part of the University's Distinguished Lecture Series.

Karen Arenson covered economics and politics of higher education institutions during her 30 years with the Times. Arenson says she will talk about the importance of a college degree during tonight's event.

Arenson is also spending time this week talking to journalism students as well as other Northwest classes. Her lecture tonight begins at 7:30 in the Mary Linn Auditorium of the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.
