Second Harvest Community Food Bank is hoping to win 45 thousand dollars.
The money is from a grant from Walmart's Fighting Hunger Together initiative. Public Relations Specialist at Second Harvest, Aaron Smullin says the money would help to expand Campus Cupboard.
Campus cupboard is a food pantry located on the campus of the Colgan Alternative Resource Center in St. Joseph. The pantry is available to families with children enrolled at Colgan. It's stocked with nutritious foods supplied by Second Harvest.
To win the money, Second Harvest is asking people to vote for the program on line. You can find the Walmart app on the Second Harvest website and Facebook page. Voting continues through April 30.
