Skidmore Weapons Change

A northwest Missouri man faces federal weapons charges.

The Nodaway County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance in rural Skidmore, Missouri on March 12th. Authorities say 51-year-old Eric Maupin left the scene in a Cadillac Escalade but crashed the S-U-V at the intersection of Highway 46 and P-P. After a brief struggle, the sheriff and a deputy took Maupin into custody. Officers discovered a 40 caliber handgun inside the Cadillac and found an additional 11 guns inside Maupin's house. Maupin has felony weapon and drug convictions and federal law prohibits him from possessing firearms.. Nodaway County Sheriff Daren White says his office reported Maupin to the U.S. Attorney.

White says Maupin is now in the custody of the U.S. Marshal in Kansas City.
