Sequestration Effects on Nat'l Guard

Officials with the Missouri National Guard are watching closely the sequestration discussions in Washington DC and how anticipated budget cuts will affect their operation.

Public Affairs Officer for the Missouri National Guard, MajorTammy Spicer, says her organization is reviewing ways for the potential cuts have as little affect on the public as possible .

Spicer adds they hope to lessen the impact the cuts will have on Guard's employees .

Spicer says they have not received word yet as to when the budget cuts will occur, or just how much they will see taken away from the Missouri National Guard budget. The Missouri National Guard has several units located in northwest Missouri including Maryville and Albany (ALL-bany).
