Mushroom King

It will soon be mushroom hunting season and a Savannah man has made a profession out of hunting for the wild edibles.

Tom Weipert  provides mushrooms to restaurants in Kansas City and other large cities. Weipert will present a program next week at the Rolling Hills Library on what causes morels to grow and how to store and cook them. Library Assistant at Rolling Hills Library in Savannah Alan Stolfus says there are a lot of people who hunt for mushrooms this time of year.

Tom Weipert will speak at 6:30pm on Thursday, April 4th at the Savannah Branch of the Rolling Hills Library, 514 West Main. The program is open to the public. For more information you can call the Savannah Branch at 816-324-4569.
