Community Tree Meetings

The Missouri Department of Conservation is looking to educate citizens on the value of their public trees through a series of workshops in the area.

The workshops will provide useful information on the care of public trees as well as the benefit they have to their community. Media Specialist for the Missouri Department of Conservation, Bill Graham, says there are some benefits to having community trees that we may not know about.

Graham adds public trees also add scenery to a community. The workshops will include information on measuring and understanding the economic value of trees, the value of a tree inventory, and trends in community forestry. Anyone with an interest in community trees will benefit from the workshop, and professional credits will also be available. The workshop will be held Wednesday from 2 to 4 pm in St. Joseph at the MDC Northwest Regional Office, 701 James McCarthy Drive. Registration is required at stjoe.bpt.me.
