Arrests in Maryville

A 19 year old Ewing, Missouri resident has been arrested and charged in connection with the March 10th armed robbery of the Maryville Dollar General Stored located on North Main.

Maryville Public Safety Director Keith Wood says James Meredith was charged with Robbery First Degree and Armed Criminal Action after being stopped for a traffic violation late Friday evening. Wood says he was pleased with the work of his public safety officers for in identifying Meredith.

In a separate investigation, Maryville Public Safety officers also arrested 32 year old Jeremy Helton of St. Joseph in connection to the theft of a stolen vehicle in the last month. The investigation continues into the theft of three other stolen vehicles as well as a number of vehicle break-ins in recent weeks.
