Polar Plunge

An event benefiting Special Olympics in northwest Missouri was held earlier this month in Daviess County.

The 6th annual Polar Plunge at Lake Viking on February 2nd featured a record-high 97 participants. $22,000 was raised for Special Olympics Missouri, which hosts more than 15,000 athletes with intellectual disabilities in 21 sports around the state. Area Director Melody Prawitz says the money raised at Polar Plunge directly affects the Olympians' athletic needs.
