One Read Livingston County

A new program urging Livingston County residents to increase their reading habits is being organized by the Friends of the Livingston County Library.

The program is called "One ReadLivingston County, One Community, One Book". The program encourages community members to have a shared experience through reading one classic piece of literature at the same time. Events and programs surrounding the book will be held to supplement the reading. Livingston County Library Director Robin Westphal says one read programs are gaining popularity across the country.

Westphal wouldn't say what book was chosen for the first program, but said it is a classical piece of literature read commonly in schools. The program will officially kick off on March 10th at 2 o'clock at the Livingston County Courthouse in Chillicothe with the annual Friends of the Livingston County Library Membership Drive.
