Jazz Concert

Next week two jazz groups are performing in Maryville.

Both the Studio Jazz and Jazz ensemble, Northwest's two big band groups, are holding a concert Monday night. That concert will begin at 8pm in the Charles Johnson Theatre within the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building on the Northwest Missouri State University campus. Associate professor of Music at Northwest and Director of both groups, Dr. William Richardson says Monday evening's concert provides a wide variety of selections will be featured to better appeal to both the audience and the performers.

Richardson says within each group improvisational soloists will be featured.

The Studio Jazz and Jazz Ensemble concert will begin at 8pm in the Charles Johnson Theatre within the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts Building on the Northwest Missouri State University campus. The concert features various styles of jazz, including swing, funk, latin and blues, and is free and open to the public.
