The blood supply at several area hospitals is currently low.

Recent snow storms forced the cancellation of a number of blood drives in northern Missouri which contributed to the shortage. Donor Recruitment Representative with the Community Blood Center in St. Joseph, Betty Tinker, says it's important to maintain a large inventory of blood even when the demand is low.
