Prescribed Burns

There will be a workshop and demonstration on prescribed burns by the Missouri Department of Conservation on Saturday, January 19th in Livingston County.

Land owners will learn how to safely conduct a prescribed burn, using fire to help manage C- R- P fields and to boost native plants and a habitat useful to wildlife. Missouri Department of Conservation Private Lands Consultant Scott Roy says prescribed burns can be dangerous if not done correctly.

If weather permits a demonstration will be conduced, participants should ware leather boots and bring leather gloves, lunch and refreshments will be provided. Again the workshop will begin at 9am on Saturday the 19th at the Poosey Conservation Area in Livingston County.
