I-29 Shooting Update

More details have been released by the Missouri Highway Patrol concerning a fatal shooting of a motorist by a patrol officer last night.

The incident took place at approximately 8:16 when a trooper working I-29 at the 91-marker near Craig, Missouri stopped a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe for speeding. According to Missouri Highway Patrol spokesperson, Sergeant Sheldon Lyon, the trooper placed the suspect under arrest for driving while intoxicated.

Lyons says the identity of the suspect is unknown at this time. Troopers from the Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control continue to investigate the incident.
