Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has appointed two persons to the Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents.
Democrat John Richmond of Albany and Republican Dr. Patrick Harr of Shell Knob. Richmond served 29 years as the president and CEO of the Northwest Medical Center in Albany and has a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a master's degree in hospital adminstration from Webster University. Dr. Harr spent 38 years practicing medicine in Maryville and served as a volunteer phyusician for Northwest athletics before retiring last June. Dr. Harr earned his undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Misosuri-Columbia and attended Northwest where he studied pre-medicine. Both appointments must be confirmed by the Missouri Senate. If confirmed, Richmond will fill the Board seat of Lydia Hurst and Harr will fill the position held by Doug Sutton. The Governor has appointed Richmond and Harr for terms ending January 1, 2019.
