Rankings for NCAA Division II football are out

The first regional rankings for NCAA Division II football are out and the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats are fifth in the Super Region 3 rankings.

Minnesota State-Mankato is first at 8-0, Henderson State, second at 8-0, Harding, third at 6-1, Emporia State, fourth at 8-0 and Northwest, fifth at 7-1. Minnesota-Duluth rounds out the top 6 at 7-1. The top 6 at the end of the season advance to the NCAA Division II play-offs. Besides Northwest and Emporia State, one other MIAA team is in the top 10, Missouri Western is ninth at 7-1. Pittsburg State after back-to-back losses to Northwest and Missouri Western are not in the top 10.
