Bearcat Sports Summary for Friday

The Northwest soccer team won a 4-3 overtime thriller over Wayne State in Wayne, Nebraska Thursday afternoon.

After falling behind early the Bearcats scored 3 consecutive goals to send the game to overtime and then 6 minutes into overtime Chelea Fournier...scored her second goal of the game to win it off an assist from Katelynn Lindsey. The Bearcat soccer team improves to 2-0-1 and will be home Sunday for game with Winona State at noon.

The Northwest volleyball team is on the road for the 2nd straight week...this weekend competing in the Missouri S and T...Middle of Everywhere Classic in Rolla, Missouri. Northwest has match's with Upper Iowa and Southern Indiana Friday.

The Bearcat golf team continues play in the 2-day William Jewell Invitational in Liberty, Missouri.

The Northwest Cross-Country team opens up their season hosting the Northwest Open at the Maryville Country Club. Cross-Country head coach Scott Lorek says he has one main goal for first meet of the season.

Lorek also made his comments during last night's KXCV Bearcat Coaches Show live from Carson's Sports Grille. Friday's Northwest Open Cross Country meet gets underway at 6 o'clock with the women's race and 6:45 for the men at the Maryville Country Club.
