Northwest wins opener

It was a good win for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat football team last night as they defeated East-Central of Oklahoma 33-3 to open the season at Bearcat Stadium.

Bearcat defensive back Brandon Dixon in his Bearcat debut picked off 2 passes and ran 1 back for a touchdown to go along with 7 tackles to help lead the defense in the win. Bearcat head coach Adam Dorrel says overall he feels about the win.

Bearcat head coach Adam Dorrel. Northwest running back Jordan Simmons carried the ball 11 times for 101 yards and a touchdown. Up next for Northwest is Central Missouri next Saturday afternoon in Warrensburg.
