The Missouri 97th General Assembly convenes early next month.
For the second consecutive legislative session, Missouri 7th-District State Representative, Mike Lair of Chillicothe will serve as chairman of the House Appropriations Committee for Education. The committee is responsible for bills pertaining to the public funding of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Department of Higher Education. Republican First-District Representative, Mike Thomson of Maryville will serve on the committee with Lair.
Democrat, Pat Conway 10th-District Representative of St. Joseph, has been appointed to serve on the House Appropriations committee for General Administration. That committee is responsible for bills pertaining to the state's funding of the public debt, elected officials, Office of Administration, the General Assembly, the Department of Revenue, the Judiciary and the Public Defender.
Jim Neely, Republican 8th-District Representative from Cameron will serve on the House Appropriations Committee for Health, Mental Health and Social Services. His committee is responsible for bills pertaining to public funding of the Deparmtnet of Health and Senior Services, the Department of Mental Health and the Department of Social Services.
The 97th General Assembly will convene for the 2013 legislative session Wednesday, January 9th.
