Generators Grant

A grant looks to improve the lives of Maryville citizens in case of an emergency.

The Legislative Pre-Disaster Mitigation Program has awarded Maryville a grant of 172 thousand 5 hundred dollars. Maryville plans to use the grant to install 5 new generators. Four of the new generators will go to sanitary sewer lift stations and one will go to the public safety building. City Manager Greg McDanel says in case of a disaster or power outage these generators will provide help.

The project is expected to cost 230,000 thousand dollars overall. McDanel says the city will be able to make up the difference between the cost of the project and the grant.
