The Special Olympics Missouri District Bowling Tournament takes place next month in St. Joseph.

Over 800 athletes will compete on December 8th and 9th for the chance to advance to the state tournament. The event needs volunteers to be lane assistants at Belt Bowl and Southside Family Fun Center. Lane assistants keep track of scores and help the athletes in their lane. John Hankinson is the Competition Coordinator for Special Olympics Missouri. He says lane assistants get a chance to help and interact with athletes.
