Shoe Recycling

Livingston County Girl Scouts are collecting shoes for the local animal shelter.

Girl Scout Troop 81-70 of Chillicothe will recycle used dress shoes, athletic shoes and boots to raise money to donate to the animal shelter. The troop has worked with the animal shelter before, but this is the first year for the shoe recycling program. Girl Scout Leader of the freshman girl scouts, Annette Waits, says this fundraiser will help those animals in risk of being put down.

Waits says the scouts can not accept flip flops or snow boots for the recycling program. Donations will be accepted throughout the school year at the Chillcothe Chamber of Commerce, Essential Kneads, Cross Connections Computer Essentials and the Chillicothe Animal Hospital.
