Recent Local Break-Ins

A recent string of burglaries in northwest Missouri has residents taking precautions.

The burglaries are taking place in the Kansas City area, in remote areas and even in Nodaway County. Recently, break-ins have been occurring at unoccupied buildings such as churches and houses for sale. Copper pipes and heating and cooling units are some of the items being stolen. Maryville Director of Public Safety Keith Wood says while the break-ins have not been a problem in the Maryville area, property owners should still be cautious.
