Maryville Legislator on goals for next session

Missouri legislator's were in Jefferson City last week for organizational meetings in preparation for the 2013 General Assembly session.

4th District State Representative Mike Thomson of Maryville says Speaker of the House, Tim Jones, outlined 3 areas of emphasis for the upcoming session beginning with Economic Development.

Thomson says Energy and Education Reform are the other two issues the House Speaker says will need to be addressed. Thomson also anticipates a lot of discussion during the 2013 session will also center around the health care exchange issue that Missouri voters placed restrictions on during this month's General Election and possible Medicaid expansion.
