Folk Music Exhibit

Northwest Missouri State University Public History students have developed "A Night of Folk Music" exhibit which will take place Friday night at the Ron Houston Performing Arts Center.

The exhibit consists of a live performance from Ryan Spearman, along with student work that includes text panels and images, audio pieces, and interactive components. Ryan Spearman, is a professor at the Folks Music School in Saint Louis, and is a performer of vintage Americana and post modern original art. Assistant Professor of History in Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Doctor Elyssa Ford says she asked students to get involved with the exhibit to enhance their learning.

Ford adds the exhibit covers a wide-range of topics centered on folk music.

A shuttle will be available to transport guests from Spearman's performance to the Nodaway County Museum where the other part of the exhibit will be displayed. It opens at 7-30 tomorrow night. Exhibit's will remain on display at the Museum tomorrow through the 30th. The exhibit in the Studio Theater at the Ron Houston Performing Arts Center will be on display Friday night.
