Energizer Closing Effects on Schools

The closing of the Energizer Battery Manufacturing plant will affect the Maryville community in a number of ways including the Maryville School District Budget.

During this week's Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Larry Linthacum, updated the board on how the closing may alter their budget for the 2014-15 academic year.

Linthacum says with the Energizer plant not closing until the end of 2013, the Maryville district plans to be proactive in reviewing ways to offset the expected loss of revenue from the plant shut down.
