A Northwest Missouri State University Associate Professor receives a Distinguished Service Award.
Doctor Arley Larson is an associate professor of agricultural sciences. He received the Distinguished Service Award for outstanding service to the American Association of State Colleges of Agriculture and Renewable Resources. Larson served the association as president, secretary and held other leadership roles. He also helped in a successful effort to obtain funding and authorization for non-land grant capacity building grants. Larson was given the award during the association's annual meeting at the campus of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls over the weekend of October 8th. Before becoming a member of the Northwest faculty in 1987, Larson earned his doctoral degree in agricultural economics from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Larson also worked as an economist for both the Agricultural Research and Management Services Incorporated and the Nebraska Natural Resources Commission. Larson also received the Honorary American F-F-A Degree, an award given to those who advance agricultural education and the F-F-A through outstanding personal commitment.
