Mo Mowing

The Missouri Department of Transportation will be mowing major and minor roads throughout the state starting now.

All major roads will be mowed 30 feet on each side, with non-major routes mowed 15 feet on each side. Weather permitting, mowing will continue until November 30th. This is the last of 3 mowings by MO-DOT for the year as they condense their schedule to save money. The goal of the mowings is to remove visual obstructions for drivers to safely navigate roads and intersections. MO-DOT Northwest Customer Relations Manager Melissa Black says safety is important for both drivers and the highway workers doing the mowing.

Trucks and tractors will have lights flashing and will be moving slowly, possibly 2 to 5 miles per hour. MO-DOT asks drivers to only pass its vehicles if necessary and if you have a complete view of both lanes. Drivers are encouraged to avoid passing on hills or curves.
