Competitive Food Drive

Maryville High School and Savannah High School have started a friendly competition to benefit the Nodaway County Food Pantry and the Andrew County Food Pantry.

The competition started as a fun and helpful way to drive spirit and competition between the two schools as the rivalry football game approaches this Friday. Maryville High School Principal, Jason Eggers, says it was put together quickly, but they're hoping for a good response.

Food at Maryville High School is being collected in the High School Commons until Friday at noon, when a final food count will be taken. The losing school's cheerleaders will be leading the winning school in a victory cheer during the game in Savannah. Eggers adds, while it is a great competition between the schools, it is also good to help the students realize there are people in need of help.
