Caldwell Accident

A Chillicothe couple was seriously injured after a car accident yesterday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 67-year-old Larry Luttel was driving a a 1998 Chrysler Sebring on Westbound U.S. Highway 36. The car reportedly went off the right side of the roadway and overturned in a ditch about 3 miles west of Breckenridge. Luttel was ejected from the vehicle and taken to Cameron Regional Hospital. He was later taken by LifeNet to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. The Highway Patrol says Luttel's wife, 54-year-old Kathy Luttel was partially ejected from the vehicle. She was taken by ambulance to Heartland Regional Medical Center with serious injuries. Reports show neither Luttel nor his wife were wearing a seatbelt.
