Sept. 13, 2012ST. JOSEPH, MO | By: Swetnam
A Forest City, Missouri man sustained serious injuries after being ejected from his vehicle.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 22 year-old Alik Hughes was driving a Chevy 1500 northbound on U.S. 169 just north of Saint Joseph in Andrew County this morning. Hughes reportedly drove off the left side of the roadway and traveled 430 yards before striking an embankment. That caused the car to overturn onto its passenger side. Hughes was ejected from the vehicle. He was taken by Lifenet to Heartland Regional Medical Center. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Hughes was not wearing a seat belt.
