Northwest Honors Military

Northwest Missouri State University will honor the military at Saturday's football game.

During the pre-game festivities Citizen Soldiers who are also Northwest students will lead the Bearcats onto the field and line the tunnel. Retired Guardsman Major General Wayne Pierson, also a Northwest graduate, will be doing the coin toss. Missouri National Guard Public Affairs Representative Jennifer Archdekin says the military will be having a display of vehicles and equipment before the game begins.

The Bearcat Marching Band will also pay tribute to the military during their halftime performance and 14 news soldiers will take their military oath on the field being sworn in to the Missouri National Guard.
