North Central Missouri Drug bust

Authorities in north-central Missouri say the smell of ether turned a burglary investigation into a meth bust with 4 people arrested.

A Sullivan County sheriff's deputy went to a home near Green City on Friday night to check a burglary report. Sheriff Roger Smiley says the deputy noticed a strong smell of ether from inside the house. Ether is used in making methamphetamine. Smiley says the deputy and a Green County police officer received permission to search the house and found several meth ingredients. 2 men and 2 women, all from Green City or nearby Green Castle, were arrested and charged with manufacturing the illegal drug. Online court records did not list attorneys for them on Monday. They face first court appearances Oct. 4.
