Maryville Art Funding

The Maryville City Council set aside funds for future downtown artwork during Monday night's meeting.

The funding came at the request of the Maryville Public Arts Coalition. Arts Coalition Volunteer Luke Reven says the organization will request artist proposals for new downtown pieces; something that wasn't done for the current artwork on display.

Reven says the city of Maryville will negotiate with an artist next spring when the current downtown artwork contract expires.
