The Green Hills Community Action Agency's Low-Income Housing Energy Assistance Program will begin on October 1st for elderly and disabled clients falling at or below 135 % of Federal Poverty Guidelines.
The program is provided to help keep Missourians warm and safe over the winter months and help low-income families with their monthly budgets and expenses. Appointments are not needed to begin the application process. People who received assistance last year will automatically receive an application. Applications will be mailed to the elderly and disabled this week. Energy Services Director for the Green Hill Community Action Agency, Terri Henderson, says there are income guidelines an individual or family needs to meet to qualify for the program.
