Hatha Yoga

A free yoga class is now available to Northwest Missouri State University students and employees.

Hatha Yoga will meet from 1-2 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the Martindale Hall dance studio. Northwest Counselor Rhonda Lesley says Hatha yoga is a physical yoga exercise used to improve many aspects of our physical and mental well being.

Lesley says some studies suggest yoga can strengthen the immune system and aid in emotional stability and stress management. But Hatha yoga is different from workouts that require goal setting.

The yoga sessions are led by Northwest Counselor Rhonda Lesley and presented by Northwest Personal Development and Counseling and Wellness Services. No prior yoga experience is required and there is no need to register. Participants should dress comfortably in exercise clothing and bring a yoga mat or long towel.
