Chillicothe Green Bike Project

The Chillicothe City Council heard a proposal during their meeting this week designed to encourage more exercise and less use of vehicles in the community.

The Green Bike Project was proposed by SALT director Jason Benson. SALT stands for "Simply Achieving Lifes Triumphs" and is a youth ministry of the Chillicothe Bible Church. The program is being used by other cities and may soon come to Chillcothe. If approved Bike stands will be set up in various areas in the city mainly in the busier parts of town. Chillicothe Mayor Chuck Haney says a variety of issues need to be considered before the Council can approve the proposal.
