Solid Waste Grant

The Missouri Department of Natural Resources has released grant funds to the Northwest Missouri Regional Solid Waste Management District to distribute to both public and private entities.

The grant funds are intended to reduce the amount of waste entering the local waste stream and encourage recycling. Entities in Atchison, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway and Worth counties are eligible to apply. Environmental Planner for the Northwest Missouri Regional Solid Waster Management District, Linda Laderoute says composting is one of the key ways to keep waste out of the waste stream.
