Regent Dorrel

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon has appointed Maryville resident Francis "Gene" Dorrel to the Northwest Missouri State University Board of Regents.

Dorrel has been the general manager of United Electric since 1990. He received a bachelor's degree in personnel management from Northwest and is a past president of the Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation. Northwest Missouri State President Dr. John Jasinski says he pleased with Dorrel's appointment.

According to a news release from the Governor's office, Dorrel's appointment is subject to confirmation by the Missouri Senate but he will begin serving immediately. His term is scheduled to end January 1, 2017.
