New Aviary

The Remington Nature Center has added a new aviary with live birds to its Saint Joseph location.

The 6 foot by 8 foot aviary was donated by the Living Community of Saint Joseph, who no longer needed it but wanted to keep it local. The aviary already houses 13 birds, including an orange weaver, 2 diamond gloves and 5 pairs of finches. Nature Center Manager Andrea George says visitors have been asking for more live animals at the center, which also has a 7,000 gallon fish tank and observation beehive. George says this donation allowed the center to offer more of what people wanted.
