The Missouri Department of Transportation re-opened U.S. 169 Highway in Andrew County at Rochester last week.

Route V in Rochester at the Niagara River bridge had been closed since July 23rd due to a bridge replacement program. Senior Right of Way Specialist Holly Hailey says the bridge was completed in 19 days as that section of Highway 169 usually carries over 3,000 cars a day.

The bridge was completed under the Missouri Safe and Sound Bridge Improvement Program. The program plans to replace 190 bridges in Northwest Missouri by the end of 2013. Currently in Northwest Missouri, only 4 bridges remain to be built.
