Local Volunteers Help Hurricane Families

Tropical Storm Isaac is anticipated to affect southern Florida as early as Sunday.

4 Midland Empire Chapter Red Cross volunteers will leave today to open shelters as families begin to evacuate. Hopkins resident Don Crane is one of the 4 first responders volunteering to help set up shelters and care for the people. Crane is not new to volunteering with disaster relief, he has helped with the floods in Memphis and the tornado in Joplin. Crane says the atmosphere at these disaster sites are life changing.
