A Pickering Family has been chosen as the Nodaway County Missouri State Fair Farm Family by the Nodaway Extension Council and local Farm Bureau.

Randy and Julie Frueh, along with children Megan and Joseph, were among the 108 honored during the Missouri State Fair's Farm Family Day on August 13th. The Frueh's are very active in the community. Randy has been farming for 32 years and also does field tilling. Judy serves on the S-S-M Hospice/Home Health Board, the Big Brother- Big Sister Advisory Board, member of the Nodaway County Crusade Against Cancer and Vice-President of the North Nodaway School Board; as well as volunteers with St. Gregory's Church. Both Megan and Joseph were active in the North Nodaway 4-H. Joseph was active with FFA, and is still involved in the FFA program at Northwest Missouri State University and is currently attending Northwest majoring in Ag Education. The University of Missouri Extension's Nodaway County Program Director Randa Doty said the Frueh's were selected because they represent the county well.
