Jefferson KIDS Prop

Tomorrow voters in Nodaway county will decide if the Jefferson C-1-2-3 School District should receive funds to remodel and renovate their facilities.

The district is again pushing proposition KIDS which stands for Keep Improving District Schools. Prop KIDS is asking for 1.75 million dollars to develop, construct and equip a new gymnasium as well as make improvements to their existing structure. Jefferson C-1-2-3 Superintendent Rob Dowis says the school district could benefit in many ways if this proposition passes.

Dowis adds the last time Proposition Kids was on the ballot it received a 56 percent favorable vote - falling just shy of the 57 percent approval vote needed to pass. This time around if passed - the adjusted debt service levy for the district would be 89 cents per 100 dollars of assessed valuation of real and personal property.
