Chillicothe Meeting

The Chillicothe City Council met this week and passed a number of changes for the city.

A new 4.2 million dollar waterpark was unanimously approved to break ground later this month, replacing the existing center from, 1967 which will be closed later this month. Mayor Chuck Haney says the city is excited for the new waterpark and what it will soon offer residents.

In other action from the Chillicothe City Council meeting, Haney says bids for street improvement were opened, with M and M Utilities having the winning bid at 600,000 dollars, a savings of 300,000 dollars compared to initial estimates. The city also authorized the first of 3 annual payments to pay off their 45 percent ownership of a local bowling entertainment center and restaurant, which will eventually save the city over 250,000 dollars.
