Chillicothe Man Trial

The Supreme Court will hear arguments on October 4 in the case of a northwest man appealing his murder conviction.

In 1990, Mark Woodworth in Chillicothe was charged with murder following the death of his neighbor, Cathy Robertson. The hearing came 5 months after a Boone County judge, appointed by the high court in an advisory role, deemed Woodworth had been a victim of "manifest injustice." He declared Woodworth should be freed, or receive a new trial. Woodworth was 16 at the time of Robertson's death, and was first convicted in 1996, and then again by a second jury after being released for a short time on appeal. The hearing will be on October 4 at 9:30 am, and will be streaming live online.
