July 26, 2012ST. JOSEPH, MO | By: Campbell
Prosecutors and others in a Buchanan County courtroom got a shock yesterday during a hearing.
In what was supposed to be a motion hearing for the murder of 56 year old St Joseph native Charlie lonjers in 2010, Jared Houston told his attorney he wished to plead guilty to second degree murder and armed criminal action charges. lonjers was found shot to death near a home where he worked in 2010. Published reports indicate the state maintains forensic evidence connecting Houston to the likely murder weapon.
