A Northwest Missouri State University alumna recently has been named one of Kansas City's top 20 business leaders in their 20's by Ingram's business magazine.
Brooke Beason, a 2009 interactive digital media graduate, is now a digital insights analyst with VML in Kansas City. Ingram's describes Beason as a "25-year-old mix of achievement and vision." Beason said her experience at Northwest taught her important success skills, like how to be a lifelong learner and to develop a natural curiosity and desire to solve problems that many employers value. Beason also added that Northwest gave her many "opportunities to get involved," and she had several mentors like challenging professors and on-campus supervisors who "expected hard work, curiosity and a cordial persona." A former professor of Beason, Jacquie Lamer, said "Brooke is the perfect example of how a student can take advantage of all Northwest has to offer," she added that Beason is a "go-getter now just as she was in class. She was regularly staying after class to ask me questions about internet marketing and all aspects of advertising." Beason currently remains involved with the Department of Communication and Mass Media at Northwest.
