Nodaway County Burn Ban

The burn ban for the citizens of Maryville has been extended to include all of Nodaway County.

This morning, the County Commission met and decided to impose the ban on all open burning due to the extremely dry conditions the area has been experiencing. Nodaway County Sheriff, Daren White says the ban will be in effect until the Commission decides conditions have changed.

Nodaway County has not had any reports of out of control fires yet this summer, but the Commission wants to take no chances. Sheriff White adds he hopes people will be aware of the ban, and not take part in any open burning.
