The Maryville Young Players, founded in 2007, is a growing summer theater group for children and youth grades second through ninth led by Northwest Missouri State University faculty Vanessa Parsons and Pat Immel.
They have announced a unique second show for 2012 that has the directors, volunteers, parents and alumni taking the stage. "An Enchanting Evening" will be presented at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 3rd and Saturday, August 4th in the Studio Theatre at the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts. The performance will feature songs and scenes from Broadway hits, including "Camelot," "Beauty and the Beast" and "Shrek the Musical." The show will include an intermission with coffee and dessert. Tickets are required for the performance and may be reserved by sending an email to Maryville Young Players@gmail.com.
