DeKalb County Burn Ban

A burn ban is now in place for DeKalb County residents in Missouri.

An emergency meeting of the DeKalb County Commissioners was held yesterday afternoon to address the issue. According DeKalb County Presiding Commissioner Harold Allison...a number of fires over the weekend prompted the commissioner's action.

Allsion adds DeKalb County officials have set up a cooling station in the basement of the DeKalb County Courthouse in Maysville for anyone needing a place to escape the hot temperatures affecting the region. The Nodaway County Commission today also enacted a Burn Ban for all of Nodaway County. The Burn Ban will be in effect until the County Commission determines weather conditions have improved. The City of Maryville earlier this month placed a ban on burning as well.
